In short

Foldex has no accounts and no ads. It contains no analytics and no tracking, and it does not collect, sell or share personal information. Everything you create in the app stays on your device.

What stays on your device

• Your seen, caught and favourite marks.
• Your settings: units, sounds, haptics, animated effects, narration speed, and grid or list view.
• The Pokémon and page you last viewed.
• A cache of the data, sprites, artwork and cries the app has downloaded, so it can open offline.

None of this is sent to the developer or to anyone else. In Settings you can clear the caches and reset your marks. Deleting the app deletes everything.

What the app downloads, and who sees the requests

The app fetches its data and images from public services:

• pokeapi.co and beta.pokeapi.co: Pokémon data from the community-run PokéAPI.
• raw.githubusercontent.com: sprites and cries from the public PokéAPI repositories on GitHub.
• cdn.jsdelivr.net: a backup source for the same sprites.

As with any web request, these services receive your device’s IP address and ordinary request details such as the app’s User-Agent, which names the app and its project page. The app sends them no account, device identifier, location or personal information, and the developer cannot see these requests. Each service has its own privacy policy.

Speech

“Read entry aloud” uses the speech synthesiser built into iOS. The text is spoken on your device and is not sent anywhere by the app.

Children

Foldex collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
